Mayor’s Task Force for Jobs Youth Coach – Fixed Term, 23 February to 30 June 2026
Location: Southland District, Invercargill
Hours: Can be part or full time
Are you passionate about empowering young people to achieve their full potential? The Mayors Taskforce for Jobs is dedicated to creating meaningful employment pathways for youth, helping them build strong foundations for successful futures.
We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Youth Employment Coach to join our supportive, close-knit team as we continue to make a difference across Southland.
About the Role:
- Work one-on-one with young people from diverse backgrounds, providing guidance and practical support.
- Equip youth with essential work-ready skills - CV writing, interview preparation, and confidence-building coaching.
- Connect with local employers to identify opportunities and successfully place clients into sustainable employment.
- Organise engaging events and facilitate small group workshops that inspire and inform.
- Advocate for young people, ensuring they access the resources and support they need to thrive.
About You:
- Proven experience working with youth and a genuine commitment to their success.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with experience in employment placement and job search support.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- A collaborative approach and positive attitude - teamwork is key!
- Full driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout Southland.
